The South Carolina Fire Academy is set to host the Mid-Winter Academy: NFA State Weekend at Home on February 21–22, 2026, bringing high-quality National Fire Academy courses directly to the State Fire campus in Columbia.
This two-day event mirrors the popular NFA State Weekend format, giving South Carolina fire and emergency services personnel access to advanced, nationally recognized training without the travel. Courses offered include leadership development, EMS supervision, fire investigation, youth firesetter intervention, and training for new fire chiefs.
The Mid-Winter Academy is designed for anyone looking to grow in their role, whether stepping into supervision, strengthening leadership skills, or expanding expertise in prevention and investigation.
This is a free training and registration is open through January 5, 2026. Lodging and meals are available on campus for an additional cost.
For departments seeking meaningful professional development opportunities close to home, this weekend provides a convenient and impactful way to invest in your members.
