Fire Chiefs: Verify your department roster before October 1 invoices

Department membership invoices are distributed annually on October 1. To ensure all members of your department are listed on the roster, fire chiefs or their designee are responsible for reviewing and verifying their department's roster in the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association's Member Management System (MMS).

A quick review now helps ensure your department is invoiced accurately and that every eligible member receives the benefits and communications they deserve.

As you review your roster, please verify:

• Current membership: Remove individuals who are no longer with your department and add any eligible members who have not yet been entered into the system.
• Number accuracy: Confirm your roster reflects the members your department intends to cover so your October invoice is accurate.
• Member information: Ensure each member's email address, phone number, mailing address, and other contact information are current. Accurate information allows the Association to communicate directly with members about benefits, training opportunities, legislative updates, and other important announcements.
• Membership status: Verify that eligible members are correctly reflected in the system so there are no issues with benefit eligibility.

Maintaining an accurate roster is more than an administrative task. In the event a member needs to access an Association benefit, accurate department records can help prevent unnecessary delays or eligibility issues.

Individual members can view their information by logging into the MMS and navigating to the My Departments tab.
