Within broad parameters and in accordance with general organizational requirements and accepted practices, conducts fire department training, ensures current and effective training, and performs Training division administrative duties. Coordinates, implements, and delivers fire department training programs and activities. Works with Chief of Training to evaluate the effectiveness of the training program to achieve departmental goals. Supervises and evaluates recruits during orientation program to ensure proficiency in firefighting, medical, special operations, and community risk reduction skills. Coordinates and supervises the training activities of Platoon Training Officers. Supervises the delivery of training programs and evaluates performance of Fire Department personnel during training activities. Ensures accuracy of data through records management. Researches training programs, develops new training curricula, and researches new available technology for tools and equipment. Conducts annual testing of all apparatus in coordination with the Chief Fire Mechanic. Responsible for operations, organization, and upkeep of department training grounds. Serves on committees and task groups as assigned. Serves on-call on a rotating basis to provide logistical support to Fire Suppression during emergency and non-emergency situations. Assumes duties of the Chief of Training in his/her absence.  Associate degree in a general professional or technical field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities for the job.  Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Lieutenant or higher.  NIMS ICS or a NFA course meeting NIMS ICS (100, 200 & 700).  ICS-300 & ICS-400.  SCFA EVDT or equivalent IFSAC/ProBoard certification.  IFSAC/ProBoard Fire Instructor I.  Current CPR.  SCFA Basic Aerial Operations or equivalent IFSAC/ProBoard certification.  SCFA Pump Operations or equivalent IFSAC/ProBoard certification.  Fire Officer II.  National Registry EMT within one (1) year of employment.
