Under general direction and in compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, performs fire suppression, station maintenance, and fire prevention duties. Operates in a team environment, responding to and assisting with a variety of emergency and non-emergency situations including structures, automobiles, wild land fires, and medical emergencies. Performs routine commercial pre-fire planning. Conducts daily emergency equipment inspections and performs maintenance.
Performs routine station maintenance duties including sweeping, mopping, cutting grass, and laundry. • High school diploma or equivalent. • International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board Firefighter II certification meeting National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Firefighter II standards. • Must have or obtain National Registry and South Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification. • Must have or obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification.
