Bio Jason Dennis

4th Vice President

Deputy Chief Dennis was born in Florence County SC and developed a passion for the fire service at a very young age, being mentored by his father who was a volunteer firefighter with South Lynches Fire Department. That early exposure to the fire service inspired him to follow in his father’s footsteps, leading him to become a volunteer firefighter with South Lynches Fire Department in 1998 and subsequently a career firefighter with Midway Fire Rescue in Pawleys Island, SC in May of 2001.

Working through the ranks at Midway Fire Rescue, Jason earned the position of Lieutenant in 2007 and Captain in 2010. He began serving on the Associations’ Members Benefits Committee in 2010 and was moved over to the State Supervisory Committee (1% Committee) in 2011. The next year he completed the Leadership Institute Program and in 2014 was elected President of the Pee Dee Firefighters’ Association. Chief Dennis obtained an Associate’s Degree from Horry-Georgetown Technical College in 2010 and a Fire Science Degree from Columbia Southern University in 2019.

In 2014, he accepted a position with Clarendon EMS so that he could be closer to home and serve the community he lived in. After working at Clarendon EMS as an EMT and then Paramedic, Jason accepted the position of Deputy Fire Marshal with Clarendon County Fire Department in November of 2016. The following year he was chosen to serve as Captain in the Training Division and in 2019 was promoted to Deputy Chief of Fire Operations where he still holds that position today.

Jason has been married to his loving and supportive wife, Brandi, for 14 years and they have a son, Cayden (9). He enjoys the outdoors and especially spending time with his son, Cayden.
